Portland Green Streets (PGS) is deeply grateful for the funding and in-kind assistance we’ve received from the following folks:
- in-kind donations (monthly incentives, food for events, etc.) from our business and organizational sponsors. A partial list is located at the bottom of this page.
- Healthy Portland mini-grant to support the development of Portland Green Streets’ incentives program, as part of funding through Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) through the America’s Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Mini-grants were awarded to initiatives that will create more opportunities for physical activity in Portland. Portland Green Streets is proud to work with Healthy Portland to find innovative ways to promote healthy, active transportation in the city,
- $850 in donation from attendees of March’s Portland GreenDrinks event. Thanks to Green Drinks and the League of Young Voters, GreenDrinks’ Action Partner, for their assistance in putting this event together.
- $1,800 grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund for organizing work and promotional materials
- $2,000 grant to individuals from the Clarence and Lilly Pickett Endowment for Quaker Leadership – to support the work of lead organizer, Sarah Cushman
- $1,000 grant to individuals from the Lyman Fund – to support the work of lead organizer, Sarah Cushman
- $250 mini-grant from Healthy Casco Bay for a concerted campaign to promote Green Streets participation in Falmouth, Cumberland, and Yarmouth
- $250 second mini-grant from Healthy Portland for Green Streets buttons to promote walking & biking
- $500 donation for PGS t-shirts and other in-kind help from GoMaine
- Two $250 mini-grants from Healthy Portland for PGS buttons promoting walking and biking
- $335 mini-grant from Sam and Kayda Selby of Wiscasset for PGS posters on every METRO bus
- donations from all the Green Streeters who received PGS t-shirts!
- donations from Portland Green Streets Advisory Group members!
- materials for the Great Earth Day Bike Parade from the Maine Women’s Fund, Portland Friends Meeting, and Office Supply
- donated staff time from Portland Parks and Recreation and the Portland Police Department
