Our Organizers

Portland Green Streets is organized by people LIKE YOU around Greater Portland who generally participate every month – and also get their workplaces, schools, clubs, neighborhoods, faith communities, etc. involved, too!

Sarah Cushman of Cushman Transportation Consulting, LLC is the lead volunteer Green Streets organizer. Her job is to keep the communication open and the information flowing! Sarah is grateful for a $1,000 grant from the Lyman Fund and a $2,000 grant from the Clarence and Lilly Pickett Endowment for Quaker Leadership in support of her work.

Our Board of Directors:  Sarah Cushman, Chair; Joan Ingram, Secretary; Keith Gosselin, Treasurer; Kim Anderson; Corey Templeton

Amos Wright, of Bath, volunteers his time as the amazing Portland Green Streets webmaster – promoting an empowerment model that helps us do much of the web content ourselves!

Our talented design volunteers who’ve created our logo, button and poster designs: Katie Diamond, of Katie Diamond Art & Comix, www.katiediamond.comCorey Templeton, of Portland Maine Daily Photo, Mike Popovic, of Mike’s Bike Sticker Shop, and Mary Anne Higgins.

Michelle Boisvert has been hired for the summer of 2010 with assistance from Healthy Portland.  Healthy Portland has received a big boost for its work to encourage Active Transportation, through a stimulus grant from the federal Health and Human Services Department.  As part of their work plan they seek to build the number of people who are using active transportation in Portland.  Green Streets will help meet this goal by strengthening its incentive program of discounts and offers for Green Street participants.  Michelle will be assessing, developing and implementing improvements to the current incentive program.

Here’s a partial list of our current coordinators & volunteers. They come from all ages and walks of life – and they walk, bike, take public transit, and carpool all over Greater Portland. So please take a moment to recognize these wonderful people!
